Community Snippets

We have signed up to received news from Richmond Community Voluntary Service, which is an umbrella organisation for all community voluntary groups operating across Richmond upon Thames. Richmond CVS produces a regular round up of forthcoming events and activities and often includes matters which would be of interest to Scout Groups and Explorer Units – including grants which are available. In addition, we have signed up to receive monthly news updates from Richmond upon Thames Voluntary Sector.

The District Team will provide the link to the most recent round up from both organisations on this page, starting with December 2022.

We have not verified that any leads are suitable for Scout Groups or Explorer Units but suggest that Groups or Units should be cautious about involving Scout members with vulnerable young people, offender rehabilitation etc. Guidance can be provided if you contact your relevant District Lead Volunteer.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
