Explorers top awards Zoom meeting

Date: 13th December 2020 Location: your armchair Sections: Explorer Scouts, County

Dear ESLs, AESLs and Explorers Helpers,

First of all we would like to introduce ourselves as some of you may not know who we are.  We are Jane Pringle and Caroline Sauret and we are the Assistant County Commissioners for Explorers in our County Greater London South West (GLSW). Our role is to support your DESC and Explorer Scouting in general in our County.

The idea to reach out to you directly is to make ourselves more visible and try to be more supportive and help units and districts to collaborate more and share ideas, events, good practices, get together in residentials etc.  The DESCs were in agreement that this would be a good thing to do.

Therefore we would like to invite you to a Zoom meeting on Sunday 13 December 2020 at 5.30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Awards, Top Awards and also programmes in our County.  We hope there will be an opportunity to talk to some of our District DofE Advisors, our County DofE Administrator, our ACC Top Awards, our ACC International and our DCC for Programmes. Also the opportunity for you to share ideas, events that you ran successfully or asking for support, ideas etc.

Lastly, we would like to invite you to join our closed Facebook Group, GLSW Explorers (ACCs & DESCs) in which you can ask questions, share ideas etc. We will post County events, share new ideas and news from HQ with you on this platform so information can reach instantly. To join our GLSW Explorers (ACCs & DESCS) Facebook closed group, click here.

We estimate the meeting to be between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes. The details of the meeting are as follows:
