London Region Virtual Conference 2021

Date: 16th January 2021 Location: your armchair Sections: Adult Volunteer

An invitation to all managers and supporters in scouting across London to discover how together we can ensure scouting in our region stays strong and continues to provide amazing programmes to even more young people throughout our city.

Over the last few months we have seen the exceptional time and effort our volunteers have put in to providing scouting in exciting, new and novel ways to their members across our 1,871 scout groups and  223 explorer scout units in our region.

As the world around us slowly adapts and transitions into a post-COVID-19 phase, we invite you to discover how together we can ensure scouting across London stays strong and continues to provide amazing scouting to even more young people across our city. The day will provide the opportunity for you to focus and think about your own sustainable plans for the successful, gradual, return of face-to-face scouting (as we know it). And, at the same time, think about what you and your teams need to do locally to ensure we adapt, where necessary, to enable us to retain members, grow scouting and continue to provide amazing programmes for more young people across our city.

The purpose of our virtual conference is to:

  • share the top priorities for our region (our growing stronger together framework)
  • provide you with relevant support and inspiration towards our eventual return to sustainable ‘normality’ during these uncertain times
  • unite London as one team with one goal with a coordinated ownership amongst our managers and supporters of the collective issues we currently face across London
  • enable us to work together on our common goals to ensure we grow stronger as a scout region, build on our established skills for life strategic plan and the emerging priorities the current situation has highlighted for our groups, units, districts, counties and region in the post COVID-19 context

To help us with planning please book your place by no later than 12 noon on 20th December 2020.

We really hope that you can join us for this exciting day. Our future is going to be amazing and it starts with you!

Terry Kingham
Regional Commissioner for the London Scout Region
