Activities

This page is a great opportunity to share information on activities which are available – in our Scout groups, in the wider community or as day trips. If you have had a great experience, share it with the rest of the District Scouting community!

This isn’t a comprehensive directory, but we plan that everything on this page should normally already been tried and tested and recommended by Scouts for Scouts. You can either tell us about it, or find out about what other Groups have done. Click on the links below: “Tell us” opens a form for you submit – alternatively there is a link to paper forms, which should be e-mailed to digital@richmondscouts.org.uk. You can view the information about any specific day trip away or activity, just click on the link!

Activities

Have you been undertaken a local activity – maybe something which counts towards an activity badge. It may be a trip to try something new such as a new sport provided by someone or a club. It could have been a visit to a Scout badge partner.

You might know of some person or organisation that can visit Scout groups. It could be linked to a charity. Or maybe you have an activity that you can share with other Scout groups in the District (at their HQ or yours). Tell us about it!

Other resources

A great sources of activity information is available on the Scout UK website activities page – click here

The page on the Greater London South West County website link is here:  https://glswscouts.org.uk/sspage-info_for_volunteers-activities-latest_updates45.html but was found to be broken when last checked in December 2023.

There are also opportunities for day trips to some of the Scout Adventure Centres, such as Gilwell Park. These include badge days. See the Scout Adventures website – click here.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
