What a great Happy Birthday!

Our District Happy Birthday camp couldn’t have been better!

We held our District Camp from 2nd to 8th August 2025 – themed on Happy Birthday (as everyone has one of those each year!). On any one day, over 200 young people (over 230 on the Wednesday) enjoy many of the over 20 activities on offer at Paccar Scout Camp – 3G Swing, Crate Stacking, Archery and Zip line amongst them. As well as the Paccar activities, groups provided additional activities for young people to try out – many related to earning activity badges such as pioneering, environmental conservation and survival skills. Some groups took the opportunity to go out on a local hike.  And those on-site for a few days got a day trip to Whipsnade Zoo as well.

The highlight of the week was the Happy Birthday party on the Wednesday. Games, more games, party food and a camp fire were organised and successfully delivered. Of course the excellent weather really helped!

Many thanks from the District team to all the Group and Unit Leaders and Volunteers who made the camp a success – particularly by providing activities during the week and especially the various games on the Wednesday which were terrific! And of course thank you to all the young people who took part and made organising the camp so worthwhile.

The District Team will now start to turn its attention to the next bi-annual District camp – Poland 2027, to co-incide with the World Jamboree. Initial planning has already started and news will be released over the coming months.
