23 April, St. George’s Day, Renew your Promise online

Date: 13th Apr 2020 Author: Phil Hunt

Members of all ages are invited to renew their Promise on St. George’s Day, Thursday 23rd April after the 8pm Clap for Key Workers.

There is an initiative started on Facebook for Members across the County to wear uniform that evening and to renew their Promise online directly after the Clap for Key Workers event (at around 8.10pm) to allow people to participate in that if they wish.

This initiative is supported by GLSW Scouts.

Sections and Groups are invited to organise an online meeting for that time so that everyone can renew their Promise together.

The District will also be hosting an online session which will be open to ALL youth and adult members who don’t have a local session that evening. The District Team will lead traditional Promises for Beavers, Cubs and everyone else. (See Events page for joining details)

Those members who are not able to join any of the online sessions are being asked to renew their Promise on their own or with their family.

Renewing the Promise is an important part of being a Scout and is as relevant now in these difficult times as it has ever been.

As always, the Digital Team would love to see stills or video of us renewing the Promise. Please send to digital@richmondscouts.org.uk (after you have obtained any necessary parental permission of course).
