Scouts and Guides join together to celebrate 90 years of Gang Show
Over 160 Scouts and Guides from across the UK have been selected to join the cast for Gang Show 90 at London’s Eventim Apollo this July to celebrate 90 years of Scout and Guide Gang Shows.
The anniversary Gang will be made up of cast from shows across the UK who will join together in song, dance and comedy to celebrate what has become a Scouting and Guiding tradition not only across the UK, but around the world.
Gang Show 90 will showcase the amazing talents of Scouts and Guides aged between 14 and 25 who will create a showstopping performance that is set to raise the roof of the Eventim Apollo for night only on 9 July 2022.
Dave Britton, from Gang Show 90 said: “Gang Show 90 gives our young people the chance to showcase their talents at a major London Theatre. This experience will allow them to develop skills for the future. Skills not only in theatre and performance, but skills for life in confidence, resilience, leadership, independence, and teamwork.
“Marking our history, we are proud of the role Gang Show has had around the world. From being a platform for young performers and technicians, Gang Shows continue to develop to be as relevant today as they were when they began 90 years ago.”
One of the goals of Gang Show 90 is to have as many UK Gang Shows represented on stage as possible. Bringing a cast together from Exeter Gang Show in the south to Dundee Gang Show in the north, and many places in between we will have 39 Gang Shows on stage in what promises to be the opportunity of a lifetime for our cast and a celebration like no other for our audience.
Anniversary shows have taken place every 10 years celebrating the anniversary of Ralph Reader’s first Gang Show that took place at the Scala Theatre in 1932.
Tickets for Gang Show 90 are available now from the Eventim Apollo box office with seats priced from £17 to £39.75.
