A little Kindness goes a long way …

Date: 22nd Nov 2021 Author: Phil Hunt

3rd Heathfield (Ibn Battuta) Scouts and Explorer Scouts from Zheng He ESU collected over 100 gift boxes to distribute to refugee children in need in the UK.

As part of the Community Impact Badge, the collection was supported by Scouts from Petersham & Ham, North Richmond, 3rd Whitton and 7th Hampton.

A kindness box full of gifts can make all the difference to a child arriving in an unfamiliar, cold and very foreign land. As Scouts we can make a real impact to the children in our community who are less fortunate and bring back forgotten smiles.

The boxes were distributed on Sunday 21 November at a special event near Heathrow.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
