Bringing everyone back together safely

Date: 29th Jun 2020 Author: Phil Hunt

As lockdown measures start to ease, we are working with youth sector partners and government agencies to understand what a safe return to face-to-face activity may look like.

You can now view on scouts.org.uk a framework that outlines our overall approach, and a range of guidance documents that offer practical support on how face-to-face activities could take place safely.

Whilst the readiness level remains at Red (all face-to-face activity remains suspended) for all of mainland UK, we expect this to change in the coming weeks and want to be ready when it does.

Given current Government’s guidance, all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events are still suspended. This suspension applies to young people and adults, and will be until further notice.

In preparation for a return to face-to-face activities, we will be processing disclosure applications again from Monday 6 July 2020.

The safety of everyone involved in Scouts, both young people and adults, is our number one priority. That is always at the heart of our decision making and when preparing this framework and guidance for bringing everyone back together.
