After 14 years as District Secretary, Carol Corti stepped down at this year’s District AGM, a videoconference meeting held on 10 September 2020.

Carol has been actively volunteering with the Scouts since the 1980’s and has held a number of roles, including that of Beaver Scout Leader. Carol was awarded the Bar to the Silver Acorn in 2018.

Jill Fielder, District Chairman writes:

Over many years Carol has sat on my right-hand side taking our minutes at District Executive meetings. It will be very strange not having her there. However, although she is putting her notepad and pen away, Carol will continue in other roles in the District. Carol will become a member of the Appointments Committee, and also the Awards Committee, taking on some of the administration to help Phil.

I expect when we return to normal Scouting there will also be other projects Carol will take on.

My thanks to Carol for all the thousands of pages she has typed up over the years, and I look forward to working with Carol in her new roles.

Carol said:

I have enjoyed my 14 years as District Secretary.  How time flies when you are having fun.”

Carol was presented with a Scout engraved Diamante cut crystal glass vase and a bouquet of flowers as small token of our appreciation.

I want the public to know how Scouting continues to open young people’s eyes to a world of extraordinary promise and possibilities.'
