District Conference – You’re invited!

Date: 19th Jul 2024 Author: Phil Hunt

SUNDAY 15th SEPTEMBER 2pm – 4pm
District Conference with free barbecue and bar (incorporating AGM)
1st Whitton HQ, Kerswell Hall, Wills Crescent, Whitton TW3 2JF

The District Conference is open to all Scout member volunteers and guests who have an interest in continuing to build a better future for Scouting in Richmond upon Thames District.

Special guests include the Deputy Lord Lieutenant (representing our Patron, HRH King Charles III), our Mayor, our Deputy Vice Presidents and of course the Lead Volunteer for Greater London South West and some of his team.

This year’s Conference marks a milestone event in local Scouting. The District will be using this meeting to transition to the new structure, the new volunteering culture and our new titles.

There will be some special Awards to be presented and a brief ceremony to commemorate the start of a new era for the District Network Scouts. We’re particularly excited that this year we’ll be treated to some musical numbers performed by the Young People from 2nd Teddington.

The Conference, which starts promptly at 2pm includes a brief Annual General Meeting of the District Scout Council. Full dress uniform (with medals) is appropriate for the AGM. District Scout Council members will be asked to vote.

This will be followed by the now famous gourmet  free barbecue and free bar* from about 4pm. It’s a great chance to catch up with everyone in person!

Families are welcome, but note: this is an adult environment and there are NO supervised activities for Young People.

NO CARS allowed on site (except by special arrangement. Contact conference@richmondscouts.org.uk

*Alcoholic drinks will not be available until after the Conference ends. The bar is in a separate building to the Conference. ‘Green Card’ alcohol policy will apply.
