Lock-down orchestra

It was necessary to cancel the NSGSO and NSGCB summer course for 2020 due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19.
Whilst the organisers were disappointed to have to do so, they kept in touch with those who passed the auditions to be picked for the 2020 course and are delighted to share with you our very own Lock-down Orchestra performance! The full performance can be viewed here
Featuring 94 musicians from across our 2019 and 2020 participants, led by both of our conductors, Leon Gee and Neil Wright, we present to you a one of a kind performance of ‘The Gang’s All Here’ by Rodney Newton, originally written for the Scout Centenary in 2007.
The organisers would like to invite you to join their Friends Community, which brings together alumni, families, and supporters of music in  The Scout Association and Girlguiding. The organisers have a mailing list which keeps the music community up to date with the latest developments from the NSGSO and NSGCB and gives advance notice of our concerts. It is free to join, so please head to apply.nsgso.com to sign up or email friends@nsgso.com to find out more.
Finally looking ahead to 20201, the organisers are delighted to be able to announce that they have secured the prestigious booking of Coventry Cathedral for the main concert, which will coincide with Coventry being the UK City of Culture for 2021. They will be hosting a spectacular joint concert with both the Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band on Saturday 7th August 2021 and look forward to sharing more details in due course. For those interested in joining the 2021 course and events, the website is at apply.ngso.com. Their general website can be found here.
