Every year on June 11th 2nd Mortlake celebrates their Group Birthday – this year was their 101st!. Normally, photos are displayed around the walls of their HQ and are an amazing collection. Keith, the GSL, writes about this year’s festivities:Lockdown needed some creative thinking. All the young people, leaders, Exec and a few old members as well as the DC and Deputy DC were invited through Zoom to bring along a cake for a 2nd Mortlake Bake Off and make Birthday Bunting to share. Wed held a short quiz on the History of 2nd Mortlake and some camp fire songs made for a fun and lively evening for all age groups.
It was amazing to see the final photo and it will bring back memories forever more of 2020 lockdown whenever we will look round the photos on the walls. The short film is a very jolly fun reminder of the night.
