Our Next District International Adventure – Registration Now OPEN
Today, 1st November, is the formal opening of Registration of our next District International adventure – the District Expedition to Poland and visit to the 2027 World Scout Jamboree
The International Adventure is for Scouts who will be 11 or above in August 2027 – so this applies to many of today’s Cubs, as well as Scouts, Explorers, Network and Adult Members.
Exact dates will be confirmed for participants as we get closer to the expedition, as this will depend on flights and organising coaches as well as the days that the Jamboree site is open to external visitors. So keep a couple of days either side of 30th July to 8th August 2027 free in your diary.

The total cost of the package (everything except transport to/from UK airport and pocket money) will be no more than £1200 per person – young person or adult alike.
Registration for this expedition is now OPEN. This initial registration period runs to the end of February 2026, so make sure that you secure your place – we are releasing 200 places for this adventure!

You cannot book this through your Scout Group or Explorer Unit – all bookings are directly with the District Team. This ensures that if a only few Scouts or Explorers in a Group or Unit wants to attend – YOU CAN!
Following registration, you will need to pay a refundable deposit of £100 – further details of how to pay the deposit will follow.

Want to attend the 2027 World Jamboree as a Participant?
Greater London South West has been allocated 36 young person places at the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland in August 2027.
To be a Participant at the 26th World Scout Jamboree, you must be aged 14 to 17 during the Jamboree. The Jamboree dates are 30th July and 8th August 2027, so Contingent members must be born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013.
There are around 2,200 Scouts and Explorers in the County (which covers the area from Richmond upon Thames to Croydon) in the eligible age range, so competition for those 36 places will be fierce.
The selection process will take place over the weekend of 10th-11th January 2026. Save the date!
Successful youth candidates for the GLSW Contingent will be bright, enthusiastic team players who will act as ambassadors for our District, County, Region and Country.
The cost per person will be approximately £3,500 and all Young Person contingent members will be expected to contribute to covering that cost by fully participating in individual and group fundraising activities.
