The ultimate Scouting experience
Scouting’s founder, Robert Baden-Powell, envisioned a special event open to Scouts from all nationalities. This led to the first World Scout Jamboree, which was held in 1920 at London’s Olympia in the United Kingdom. It was attended by 8,000 Scouts from 34 countries. Since then, the World Scout Jamboree has been held every four years and hosted all over the world.
The World Scout Jamboree is one of the largest outdoor educational events for youth on the planet!
Tens of thousands of Scouts from all over the world come together to camp outdoors and join in fun activities where they make new friends, learn about other cultures, and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime. This event is opened to Scout between the ages of 14 and 17 from all 176 Member Organizations. More details can be found at:

Jamboree visitors
On certain dates during the Jamboree, the national stands of Scouts from around the world and other exhibitions are open to visitors. Where the Jamboree is in Europe, Richmond upon Thames District will organise an International Expedition to enable a visit to the World Scout Jamboree.
The last occasion that the Jamboree was in Europe – in Sweden in 2011 – a successful camp was organised to Denmark/Sweden for 180 Scouts, Explorers and Leaders. The trip included a visit to a Viking history centre for some rowing/sailing, a visit to the Tivoli park in Copenhagen, a visit to a water theme park in Sweden as well as activities in the Scout centres where we were based – and of course a day visit to the World Scout Jamboree.
We will be undertaking an expedition to Poland to co-incide with the 2027 Jamboree. More details can be found at:
